Le Nid d'Hibou is a converted farm-workers cottage, built around 1800. It has been renovated to incorporate the old dairy and barn attic. The giant beam of the dairy is now visible in the main bedroom. The conversion is a combination of old and new, keeping parts of the original building and updating other parts to provide a comfortable and spacious dwelling for couples or families.
The woodburner, in the dining area, heats most of the property and this is augmented by radiators in most rooms. Bedlinen, towels and t-towels are included in the rental. If the cot or travel cot is requested, we ask you to bring your own linen for that.
Enter into spacious Kitchen/Diner. The kitchen area is well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, toaster, coffee percolater, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area has a long, extendable table.
Steps down into the main bedroom, which has a double bed, single bed and cot. There is ample storage for clothes. Back door to private garden.
Upstairs from kitchen/diner to living room with views over the courtyard and, in the other direction, across countryside to Tessy sur Vire. Here you'll find a sofa bed, armchairs and bean bag. There is a television, linked to English TV and a variety of DVDs and videos. Some toys and games are provided.
Off the living room is the family bathroom with a toilet, wash basin and shower.
Stairs up from the living room to the mezzanine which can accommodate three single beds or a single and double. This is not recommended for children under six, unless accompanied by older siblings. There is a stairgate at the top of the steep staircase. Velox windows with blackout blinds.
Outside is a private garden with patio area and BBQ. There is also a separate play area and walks around some of our fields.
Easy access to the haulage (towpath) along the River Vire, where you can walk to Tessy sur Vire, Pont Farcy or even further afield.
